Sensitivity Study of Ice Accretion Simulation to Roughness Thermal Correction Model

چکیده

The effects of atmospheric icing can be anticipated by Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). Past studies show that the convective heat transfer influences ice accretion and is itself a function surface roughness. Uncertainty quantification (UQ) could help quantify impact roughness parameters on reliability prediction. This paper aims to uncertainties identify key correction contributing most in Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) formulation. Ice simulations over rough flat plate using two thermal models are used construct RANS database. Non-Intrusive Polynomial Chaos Expansion (NIPCE) metamodels developed predict characteristics allow for computation 95% confidence intervals output probability distribution (PDF) sensitivity indexes according their level influence outputs. For one models, influential parameter height, whereas second model it coefficient. In addition, uncertainty freestream temperature has minor compared parameters.

The Role of Thermal Conduction in Accretion Disks with Outflows

In this work we solve the set of hydrodynamical equations for accretion disks in the spherical coordinates (r,θ,ϕ) to obtain the explicit structure along θ direction. We study a two-dimensional advective accretion disc in the presence of thermal conduction. We find self-similar solutions for an axisymmetric, rotating, steady, viscous-resistive disk. We show that the global structure of an advec...

Sensitivity of Greenland ice sheet projections to model formulations

Physically based projections of the Greenland ice sheet contribution to future sea-level change are subject to uncertainties of the atmospheric and oceanic climatic forcing and to the formulations within the ice flow model itself. Here a higher-order, three-dimensional thermomechanical ice flow model is used, initialized to the present-day geometry. The forcing comes from a high-resolution regi...

Thermal simulation of a lake with winter ice cover’

A one-dimensional thermodynamic model of a two-component ice and snow cover is added to an existing one-dimensional lake mixing model. Emphasis is placed on the thermodynamic coupling between the ice and mixing models-absent in previous models. The two-dimensional effects of partial ice cover are incorporated into this one-dimensional framework by using a minimum ice thickness. The model is app...

from linguistics to literature: a linguistic approach to the study of linguistic deviations in the turkish divan of shahriar

chapter i provides an overview of structural linguistics and touches upon the saussurean dichotomies with the final goal of exploring their relevance to the stylistic studies of literature. to provide evidence for the singificance of the study, chapter ii deals with the controversial issue of linguistics and literature, and presents opposing views which, at the same time, have been central to t...
